At the end of 2015 FIBRAIN successfully completed a new investment - Optical Fiber Draw Tower, which provides a possibility to produce optical fiber. This is the unique production process, as it is the only one in Poland and one of a few in Europe. The possessed capabilities allow for manufacturing even the most advanced specialty fibers, since the in-house technological process covers FCVD preform manufacturing, microstructure preform manufacturing and fiber drawing. Having close cooperation links with several academic groups designing specialty fibers in Poland, the company can provide customized fiber solutions for even the most unusual applications, including sensing, biomedical or highly nonlinear propagation. At the moment intensive work is carried out on finalizing the technology demonstrator using the first of the developed fibers.
